Welcome Back! – from the Director

Welcome back to all faculty and students- and just “welcome” to our incoming class of 18 students and our newest faculty member, Dr. Hilary Vidair.  I hope that everyone is as excited as I am to begin our fall semester with all kinds of new ideas and projects in the mix.  Yes, we will be moving our location, going back to campus during the first weeks of January.  Much time over the summer was devoted to planning for our new space- so the start of the Spring semester will be quite different.  I will keep everyone posted about any new developments as well as a timeline for the move.

This will also prove to be an exciting year in the larger psychology community as there are serveral key profesional conferences taking place in New York this year.  Hopefully we will have good program representation at each of these (NYSPA, Division 39 and other smaller ones).  The GRIP newsletter will serve as a key vehicle for program wide communication so send in anything you think worthy of sharing with everyone.

Have a good semester everyone.

Welcome Back!

WELCOME BACK to all returning students and just WELCOME to all new students. We are all excited to begin the Fall semester with 20 incoming first year students and 5 advanced students. You are all encouraged to get involved in the wonderful things that we have going on around here. Best news of all is that we were informed on August 6th that we did receive our full 7 year accreditation approval from APA. Can’t get better than that! Congratulations to all who worked tirelessly on the self study and the site visit preparation. Although there are a few things that we will have to tweak, we received extremely positive reviews from all involved. We had a very busy summer with our first ever Summer Institute and many students finishing up their dissertations and having successful defenses. Now we turn our sights to the November ABCT conference in NYC when we hope to have an alumni-student cocktail party kickoff prior to the numerous presentations scheduled by our own faculty and students. So, get ready for the Fall picnic and stay tuned for weekly updates about all that is going on…there is definitely a positive energy buzz.
