presents
Reflections on a Gender Free Case
Wednesday, November 18th
12:30-1:50, Conference Room, Building #2
In 2005, Dr. Ellen Toronto edited a book entitled Psychoanalytic Reflections on a Gender Free Case: Into the Void in which prominent feminist analytic thinkers examined the meaning established by the assignment of gender and the uncertainty created by its absence. In this book, Dr. Toronto presents a gender free clinical case which will invite us all to examine our assumptions about gender identity. We hope to have a lively discussion about how each of us constructs the concept of gender.
Prior to this meeting, please pick up this case study and read it thoroughly. Then we can begin to discuss all related issues.
The articles are in a box beneath the mailboxes in the lobby. Campus faculty can ask Pam Ayari for a copy.
